Spiders Game Studio and Their Silk of 10 Worthwhile Games

Spiders is a French video game developer that were founded in 2008, but don’t have too many games under their belt. Then again, I don’t think they’re that huge of a team, so seeing the games that they have made is still pretty good, given the storyline and the amount of effort put into all of them.

I haven’t played all of them, of course–in fact, I haven’t heard of a few of them, though I think that’s given the fact that I’m mainly a PC player and some of these were meant more for console at the time of release. A few of the games I have in my Steam library and I do plan on playing them at some point.

Or, at least, I tell myself that with almost all the games I own…

The main game from Spiders that I have played is what attracted my attention to them in the first place–Greedfall.

Sherlock Holmes Versus Jack the Ripper

Released in 2010, don’t expect this to be a stellar game full of amazing qualities of gameplay. But I do love a good whodunnit and I also love anything to do with Jack the Ripper (for some reason), thus this is on my Steam library and I have played a small amount of it.

It’s 1888, London, in the Whitechapel area, and a series of grisly crimes in the heart of the East End leave a gory trail of mutilated female bodies. The police struggle to pick up the scent as the bodies pile up and paranoia sweeps the city. Sherlock Holmes immerses himself in the dark, sordid alleyways of Whitechapel in order to follow the trail of the one that the press calls Jack the Ripper. During a terrifying investigation, Holmes will attempt to lift the veil of mystery that shrouds the motives and the face behind that horrific nickname.

Faery: Legends of Avalon

I haven’t really looked into this game, but it seems there are four worlds to it and, being a fairy, you can actually fly in this open world. Guess that makes this a plus, seeing as you don’t have to wait for some kind of gadget to take you across the world from one place to another.

But I wonder if that’ll make things a bit too…easy to access and bypass everything?

I mean, obviously, there’s still a storyline to stick to, but still. It’s a turn-based combat system, open world fantasy where you get to create your own character in the opening screen and save your dying world!

Faery: Legends of Avalon is a big role playing game packed with a very distinctive ambience and graphic style. Create your character, embark in a great adventure and discover the fantastic world of Avalon!

You will have to understand why this magic world is dying, and save the kingdom from certain disappearance. In a thrilling adventure where your choices will shape the story, develop your character, his abilities and special powers, as well as his equipment through the victorious battles and accomplished quests!

Gray Matter

Greedfall

This is the one and only game I played created by Spiders and I fell in love with it, despite the flaws. It certainly made me take an interest in other possible games of theirs, which led me to purchase their Sherlock Holmes games, I believe.
