American Murder: The Family Next Door – Worth a Whodunnit?

0

Nothing is worse than something happening to a neighbor on your street, or a personal friend, and not knowing the where and the why of everything, and American Murder: The Family Next Door brings that to life.

Keep an eye on those around you and watch for signs.

No not street signs, but watch out for those as well I guess.

Using raw, firsthand footage, this documentary examines the disappearance of Shanann Watts and her children, and the terrible events that followed.

Is American Murder: The Family Next Door worthy of me?

True story murders. They’re fascinating to watch, and horrible to go through. I won’t be going into a full review here–I’m only sharing my thoughts, but I whole-heartedly think it’s a good show to watch.

First thing I’ll say is I did not like Shanann.

She felt like a super clingy person to me, and always seemed to complain about things, and wanted the spotlight on her with all the FB videos, and just…me, me, me.

Not that I know anything about their lives, but man, I wouldn’t be able to take that after so long.

And heck, maybe the husband couldn’t either.

But how they put the pieces together with the help of others is kind of fascinating, especially with the neighbor.

When the neighbor was showing the footage, I didn’t notice the husband getting antsy during it, because I was trying to figure out the footage. Because I saw him walk by the light where the camera had caught him. But I think the whole him never packing stuff into his truck went over my head.

I heard it, but it didn’t register at the moment.

Which is why re-watching mysteries like this allows you to pick up on things you hadn’t really seen or heard the first time.

How did we find this product?

It showed up on my Netflix home page, and since I like mysteries and disappearances (honestly, more real life than made-up), I wanted to give it a watch.

Share your thoughts!

All right, so I made a post on my Twitter regarding this movie and I was curious what everyone else’s thoughts on the show itself was. Did you notice anything odd with the husband? What did you think of the wife?
