Maleficent: Who exactly is she?
To make a long story short, in Disney’s cartoon film of Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent is the evil queen that places a curse on Princess Aurora because she wasn’t invited to a holiday in Aurora’s favor.

It’s pretty much why we’ve dubbed her Queen of Darkness (though her second movie is labeled “Mistress of Evil”).
In the adaptation film of 2014, Maleficent is a faerie living in the moors. Because of a past lover’s evil deed of chopping her wings off, she takes revenge on his daughter, Princess Aurora. Eventually she comes to have feelings for the girl, so she’s not a complete villain.
