A lot of women would love for Daryl Dixon to hold them as much as he holds his crossbows, but don’t hold your breath, since he holds them in order to kill zombies–instead, you can think of holding these Daryl Dixon crossbows yourself, either out in the field or in a cosplay scenario.
Keep in mind the year when The Walking Dead series started (I’m speaking of the TV series in this case) before you plan on buying any of these crossbows.
First, a couple are hard to find.
Second, at least one is really expensive.
Third, you can find better options, as some crossbows are from years ago at the start of the series, or in the middle of it. Things do get upgrades after a while, you know?
Who should buy these Daryl Dixon crossbows?
Certainly not women who start ovulating just because they see Daryl aka Norman Reedus show up on the screen. I know he’s a good-looking man, ladies, but I’m going to need you to control your hormones for this one, because we’re talking a lot of cash flow with these products.
With that being said, far be it from me to judge you if you’ve got a shrine for the man like Helga does for Arnold in Hey Arnold!
Just…think twice on this one.
Someone who might like these crossbows are collectors of Walking Dead products.
This could actually go hand-in-hand with the character shrine joke I did, but if you’ve got an area decked out for specific characters and their specific clothing or weapons and Funko Pop! collectables as well as a bunch of other things, these crossbows would fit in perfectly with other Daryl Dixon paraphernalia. You could have them hanging on the wall maybe, or inside of a case.
If you do collect The Walking Dead products and are interested in signatures from the actors, then I would like to say that the Daryl Dixon crossbows stated on this page don’t have signatures, however, Super Sports Center has several crossbows signed by Norman Reedus, if you’re interested in them instead of the show-lookalikes, (I suppose).
Lastly, hunters might like to have these crossbows, just to say they use the same ones as Daryl from the Walking Dead, but…I’m almost positive there are better ones out there.
And less expensive.
It all depends on how much of a die hard fan you are, in the end.
Daryl’s Crossbow Comparisons
If you’re the kind of person who’s interested in looking at the specs of Daryl Dixon’s crossbows, then I offer them up for you to see right here. Hopefully, they’re all correctly labeled. One website did have different specs for the same product, which I found odd, but I found two other sites that had exact specs, and I went with them.
So bothersome when sites don’t label things correctly–review sites included–so like I said, I hope I don’t give you the wrong data.

Daryl Dixon Crossbows
Horton Scout HD 125
- Great for a Daryl Dixon cosplay weapon
- Not a bad beginner crossbow for critter shooting
- Expensive
- A hard to find product
I can guarantee you you’re not going to be firing these arrows straight through the skull of a zombie shambling toward you, even if Daryl seems to pull it off well enough, but that undead squirrel doesn’t stand a chance.
This crossbow was difficult to find. And the ones I found in stock are expensive.
The Horton Scout HD 125 was the first crossbow that Dixon used in The Walking Dead, and it’s used throughout the entire show. Now remember that the show started way back in 2010, and look at the year we’re in now.
Yeah. It’s been a while.
So it’s no wonder this bow is hard to find–there are better ones out there. This one is more than likely more iconic than anything else, as being the “crossbow that Daryl used in The Walking Dead” which might explain why it’s dried up on Amazon (as of this post) and practically nonexistent everywhere else.
Great for zombie killing when walkers are too far away to use my Gerber axe. I did have a slight mishap once when I fell down a small incline and the arrow backfired through my side. But that was my bad. I was able to pull it out and use the arrow to stop a walker bare handed. Made an ear necklace.

STRYKER Strykezone 380
- Good for long range hunting
- Can take down deer, boar, and other large game.
- Auto-flip magnetic safety
- Cease fire safety
- Several negative reviews on Amazon
- Hard to find
In the show, the STRYKER is found by Michonne during season 3, episode 12, titled “Clear,” within Morgan Jones’ safe house. He replaces the crossbow in the episode after.
This is actually a really good upgrade for Daryl, considering his little mishap with shooting himself on accident in a previous episode (“Chupacabra“), since it has two different safety features on it. And for someone who always seems to have his crossbow cocked and ready to fire, safety features are a pretty huge deal.
As far as the negative reviews on Amazon, they come from people complaining about the lack of warranty regarding online purchasing and the retail store not refunding anything if something about the product breaks.
That’s how it is, though.
Online purchasing is always going to be iffy.
I was hesitant to throw my support behind a crossbow instead of a handgun while putting together my zombie apocalypse survival gear, but my friend Daryl Dixon urged me to give this a chance. I find it delivers pretty good accuracy at close range, and provided you don’t try to take down a zombie with body shots, you cannot go wrong with this one!

PSE Fang 350
- Hits hard for deer and hog hunting
- String suppressors minimize noise
- Anti dry fire system
- Auto safety triggers
- Scope isn’t the best
- There was a recall for a specific serial number regarding the trigger mechanism
The PSE Fang 350 was given to Daryl by Richard in season 7, episode 10, called “New Best Friends.” Despite him acquiring the STRYKER again soon after, this is actually the better of all the crossbows he could’ve come across, due to not only the safety triggers, but also the silencing effects of the bowstring release.
Because we all know zombies are attracted to noise.
With the reviews, a variety of people mentioned the scope the crossbow comes with is subpar, but it gets the job done, so if you’re expecting a really good scope, you might be needing to buy a better upgrade.
I bought this crossbow several years ago and it is outstanding. I just killed my fifth large buck with the bow and have dispatched several large hogs with it also. shoots straight and is lethal out to about 50 yards on even the toughest old boar. My only less than outstanding comment is the scope is a little cheap for such a nice crossbow. It however works ok but I upgrades to a new Vortex crossbow scope and now the crossbow is lethal out to one hundred yards. Great bow for the price.

In conclusion…
Well?
Are these Daryl Dixon crossbows tickling your zombie hunting trigger finger? Do you have enough space in your collection’s room to put them, if you want them for showcasing? Do you have enough money to put down on one of these crossbows? Are they even worth hunting with if you do happen to want to purchase and make kills like Dixon?
Except, you know, with four-legged creatures or zombie target dummies.
There aren’t too many Daryl Dixon crossbows to choose from, sure, which makes it a bit easier to decide if you really want one of these at the end of the day.
It also made it a bit easier on him in the show, because it would suck picking up a new crossbow every new season after getting used to last season’s.
