When most people bake a cake, it’s kind of oval shaped, got some yummy layers on the inside to jazz things up a bit with your tastebuds, along with some decorations on the outside…but bakers who make things like the Earth Day Bonsai Tree Cake are a bit beyond “most people.”
They’re downright creative and deserve a spot on some baking competitions.
Earth Day will be on the 22nd of April and it is our great pleasure to dedicate this tutorial to a wonderful cause.
Serdar created this bonsai tree cake as part of an Earth Day themed cake collaboration named ‘ACTs of GREEN’ organised by Zawadi Parizek from the United Nations of Sugar Art.
Award winning sugar and pastry artists from all around the world have volunteered their time, talent and materials to create edible showpieces with the hope of raising awareness for the preservation of our planet and the importance of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle as well as donations for National Geographic Society.
We are proud to be part of such a great cause and look forward to seeing all the amazing creations in the collaboration.
Is the Earth Day Bonsai Tree Cake worthy of me?
When I first saw this I thought it was a cool looking sculpture that people might be interested in for Earth Day, but nope! I was wrong. This is in fact a cake…but not one that you can buy already made (from the site).
This is actually a tutorial on how to make this cake.
Which is even cooler than getting this as an actual finished product for someone. You might be able to learn new techniques by following this tutorial.
And it might mean a lot more to other people if you bake it for them, instead of buy it.
Isn’t Earth Day the best?
How did we find this product?
It’s a little odd looking for cakes over the internet, because most people want one that’s made nearby, but after looking for some unique cakes to bake, I came across this stunning product.
