Everybody probably searches for products to buy their fathers or father figures, but why not search for something on a grander scale, like, say…a Father’s Day vacation.
It’s rough to actually search for these kinds of places, because every person has their own likes and dislikes. Some men like hunting, while others prefer jogging around the neighborhood and sweating in gyms. But I’ve compiled a variety of activities that most men like to do and I think I did a pretty good job at picking out some websites to book some intriguing and well worth the cost Father’s Day vacation spots.
Let’s open the door to a relaxing get-away.
Just…hope COVID-19 doesn’t get in the way. Because it’s good at doing that.
Activities
Amtrack
Personally, this is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while–take a train vacation and enjoy the sights that come and go. If your own father has wanderlust, then this may be the perfect gift for him.
Backroads
One of the sites that give you more than the option of hiking, but sticking with it, the website gives you information on whether you’ll be staying in certain hotels, camping, or luxury ships, all at a glance as you skim the trip options. Asie from that, there’s options for camping, biking, snow adventures, and more.
Speaking for myself, I’d love to see the Northern Lights.
OARS
This website features different adventures–including fishing and kayaking and beer vacation–but what I like most is the fact that the different adventures have a minimum age, in case you’re looking to have the entire family join Dad on his vaca.
REI Co-op Adventures
With 10+ adventures to choose from for a proper Father’s Day vacation, that’s just their full platter of goodies.
For the specific trips, they give you an activity level rating, and a brief description of what you may expect. And obviously, if you’re a member, you’re going to get cheaper prices. Even so, you should still check out their deals and special offers.
Wildland Trekking
This website offers hiking trips by seasons, which I actually never really thought about, as well as the style of trip you intend to make. These are guided backpack trips, if you don’t mind lugging a backpack around, or Inn-based hiking tours and basecamp-based. But also, for the more fit people, there are the more serious level 5 hiking trips.
How much walking can your dad handle?
Aerial
Sky Combat Ace
Take Dad on an adventure in the sky that may exhilerate and get the adrenaline pumping enough for him to wet his pants.
Just kidding, of course. Or not. Honestly, I’d probably wet myself with one of these flight packages. Basically, you can choose to control and be the pilot of a stunt plane, or freak out as the passenger as you maneuver through the clouds. A perfectly unique experience for a Father’s Day vacation event.
Events
The Freedom Trail
If your dad likes history, then you might want to grab one of the history tours this site has to offer. They have a variety of them to choose from–and this is something my dad holds a lot of interest in. The past. How things came to be now.
Sports
Primesports
Let’s face it, most guys love their sports, and if your dad has the same fanatical response to the Superbowl, or NFL in general, or even Nascar (because everyone has a need for speed), Primesports has everything for your sports aficionado father. I’d rather pass, though. Sports have never been my forte.
Vivid Seats
You want seats? You got them.
Find upcoming sports, concerts, or even theaters (although I suppose that’s kind of an odd choice for a father’s day vacation, but hey–maybe he’s into them!) on Vivid Seats. And even if you’re not really sure what to go for in those categories–or if they’re too far away, you can always search through the regions portion of the website, to find things happening in an area near you.
