The Letter – Worthy of a Chain Letter Prank Gone Wrong

0

Have you ever picked up a letter in a random house for sale and decided to give it a read and realized oh God…it’s…it’s The Letter.

No?

Never?

Well, consider yourself lucky, because that means you haven’t played this game yet.

The Letter is an interactive, horror/drama visual novel inspired by classic Asian horror films, Ju-ON: The Grudge and The Ring. Told through an immersive branching narrative, the game puts the players into the shoes of seven characters as they find themselves falling prey to a vicious curse plaguing the Ermengarde Mansion for centuries.

In this game, your choices will shape and drive the story forward: will you mend a relationship on the verge of collapse, or will you let it fall apart? Will you risk saving them, despite the consequences, or leave them to die a gruesome death? The fate of all the characters is in your hands.

Is The Letter worthy of me?

I did not know what I was getting myself into when I started playing this game. I mean, I knew it was going to be horror of course, and it was the kind of horror I knew I could tolerate, because it came in the form of a visual novel game.

I figured it’d be more along the lines of Fallstreak, a psychological horror game.

Turns out it’s a bit beyond that.

And man does it have a bit of a timeline with several characters you get to play as. If you thought Detroit: Become Human has a lot of branching paths…you’d be right. It probably has more than this game. But still, for a visual novel, this one has quite a lot, which was unexpected.

And it has a lot of unexpected twists and turns as well, with a whole lot of endings.

Good luck figuring out all those achievements.

Good luck escaping the grips of that ghost.

How did we find this product?

This is one of the visual novel games I played on PC and oh man was it a doozy. Quite the game to play if you’re a horror fanatic who enjoys visuals and a good read.
