Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous – Worthy of a Prehistoric Kids Series

0

If you’re looking for a Jurassic series that’s a bit more kid friendly and doesn’t involve showing people getting torn in half, stepped on, or puddles of blood, Netflix offers the show Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous.

Six teens attending an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar must band together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island.

Is Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous worthy of me?

I’ve personally purchased/used this product, so my opinion is legit.

First off, this is not a kids kids show. It’s still pretty intense, as it’s still Jurassic World. People still get eaten by man-eating dinosaurs and die, but it’s more or less off-camera or hidden behind some kind of obstacle.

Some of the dinosaurs look a bit more realistic than the people, making things a little odd in the end, but I guess they wanted it so the dinosaurs still look dangerous.

As far as characters go, we’ve got your somewhat typical kids crew:

  • Dino know-it-all
  • Nervous, safety-first kid
  • Introvert
  • Extrovert
  • Social media addict
  • Rich, thinks-he-knows-it-all guy

And then of course the adults that always seem to leave the kids alone in hopes they don’t do anything stupid, when we all know they will.

They work at a camp, you’d think they’d know kids are notorious for not listening.

The storyline itself still sort of follows the whole Jurassic World movie. You’ll definitely hear vocals from certain dinosaurs that you’ve heard in the movies.

There’s the whole helicopter smashing into pterodactyl birdcage and pterodactyls chasing kids. The indominus rex that gets loose and starts terrorizing everyone. The gyrosphere scene with following the large herd of traveling dinosaurs.

Obviously, the whole show isn’t followed to a T. There are diverse scenes.

Honestly, it’s not half bad and definitely suits a family friendly watch.

There’s also a Camp Cretaceous website dedicated to the show, in case you want to check it out with your kids.

How did we find this product?

It popped up on my Netflix homepage, and since I enjoy Jurassic Park, I decided to give it a watch.
