Take a look at your piggy bank, and while you contemplate the brutality of its end, this one sufficiently dubbed the Killing of the Piggy Bank, remember the good times.
When the coins got stuck, when you couldn’t open the thing at all, and when you wondered how the damn thing ever got to be so heavy in the first place.
This is the latest edition to the Delft Blue collection created by a collaboration between Marcel Wanders & Royal Delft. The vase represents a digital age of a currency and the approach to extinction for physical money. The vase illustrates the precise moment the piggy bank is struck.
Is Killing of the Piggy Bank worthy of me?
In this day and age (that’s 2021, mind you), change and dollar bills are becoming a fading trend, as we mostly rely on our phone apps for making drive-thru payments, or credit cards. Due to that observation, I think this is quite a unique piggy bank for anyone who enjoy collecting things around the house that have meaning behind them.
The artist put their creativity into it, and the colors are fairly pleasing to the eye. Plus, it looks like you can still make use of it being an actual piggy bank, despite an invisible force wanting to bring the hammer down.
Maybe once its bloated with enough of the world’s change, you can decide on making the piggy squeal, yeah?
Just kidding of course.
This is an expensive product. Don’t smash it, please.
How did we find this product?
I was searching for some unique piggy banks and this is one of the first that popped up on my screen, and well, with that kind of price tag, I had to check and see just how unique it really was.
