Rejected – A Book That Might Be Worthy of Its Title

Rejected – A Book That Might Be Worthy of Its Title

Rejected is the first book in a series that you might actually want to consider the double-edged sword of a title you’re about to read. I’m not saying reject it, but…keep the fire burning as you curl up in your chair and turn the pages.

My father made a terrible mistake. One I’m left paying for.

As a wolf shifter growing up in a strong pack, I should be living my best life. But after my father tried to kill our leader, I’m labelled an outcast, traitor, less than dirt.

When I can’t take pack life any longer, I run, but apparently they don’t like losing their punching bag. Torin, the leader’s son, drags me back before my first shift… a shift that will reveal my true mate. I never could have predicted who mine would be, but the moment my wolf looks upon him, I’m filled with hope for a brighter future.

Afterall, no one ever rejects their true mate, right?

Wrong. Very wrong.

When the wolves attack, my soul screams for vengeance, and somehow I touch the shadow world. Somehow I bring him to our lands.

The Shadow Beast. Our shifter god. The devil himself.

Turns out being rejected by my mate was only the beginning.

Is Rejected worthy of me?

  • I’ve owned and read this book.

The title.

I should’ve paid attention to the title, and not the reviews. Rookie reader mistake, I know, but damnit, sometimes the reviewers know what they’re talking about.

Reading to the end of this book, for me, was like wading through a tar pit that wouldn’t even suck me down all the way. I just had to struggle to get out or stay where I was and contemplate why I even bought the book, and why I just read that last sentence, and how that last sentence made no sense, and how I just wish the main character would die already.

It’s a terrible thing to hear, isn’t it? But it’s the truth.

Basically the MC (I can’t remember her name–so much for a lasting impression) is an outcast and shunned by the pack because her father tried to win the spot of alpha and died. Which is perfectly fine. Makes sense.

But with all the traumatic things they put her through and the stuff that they do and have done all through the years…they don’t put a dent on her. She’s callous and talks back and doesn’t seem like she suffers at all from anything. Sure, she pouts a little when thinking of her dad, but my god, where’s the characterization at?

Personally, the moment I read her use the F bomb, I had a strong dislike of her, and it just grew from there. She’s one of those people that just uses it because it’s a word to use.

I don’t like that.

Trust me, I’ve read plenty of novels where the character say the F word, but never so…flamboyantly.

Dude vastly overestimated my intelligence and my sense of self-preservation.

Very much so. She named the bad guy Shadow and his little shadow minion Inky. Still not really sure what to make of it, because its description was sub-par.

I wanted to make a reference to another beast with a growly disposition, because just like the dude in that movie, the real-life Shadow Beast lived in the freaking library of my dreams.

Just say Beast from Beauty and the Beast! She’s such a bimbo, I swear. Plus, she enters this amazing library and it just screams cliché to me.

I don’t know what this author is the bestseller of, but if it’s this series…ya’ll need to read some better books.

How did we find this product?

After finishing an amazing book (personal opinion, mind you), I decided to go for the next one, and the reviews for Rejected were up there and I decided to give it a shot.

I didn’t dodge the bullet.
