Sweet Tooth – A Worthy Netflix Series You’ll Crave to Watch

Sweet Tooth might not be a sugar show that you’re used to watching on the Cooking Network that’ll leave you craving some baked goods, but the title does make some sense.

Kids have a sweet tooth. And so do deer.

Thus, Gus’s nickname for the show is appropriate.

Sweet Tooth

Is Sweet Tooth worthy of me?

  • Based off a popular comic book series
  • Well-balanced story arc
  • Another post-apocalyptic film

I didn’t know anything about this show when I started watching it. Only that there was going to be a deer child baby, because hey, that’s what was on the front image cover of the Netflix title. And I certainly never knew it was based off of a DC comic, because I’m not really up-to-date on comics. But I like movies that are a bit out of the norm and this hit that mark.

What really cheered me on was when Nonso Anozie showed up as one of the main characters, because I really liked him in the series Zoo, one of my favorite shows to have binge-watched.

Basically in Sweet Tooth, the world’s going to crap from a virus that nobody knows anything about or where it came from, and while that’s going on, hybrid babies are being born. Of course, there are those that want to destroy these hybrids and blame the virus on them, and then there are those that want to protect them. Humanity sucks that way.

While the search for a cure continues, Gus tries to survive and make his way to Colorado to find his mom (who may or may not be alive).

It’s a really good series.

Gus will either remind you of a fawn or a satyr. Or maybe even a furry. Quite possibly even Louis from Beastars, but let’s not go that far.

I will say, in Season 1, Episode 3: Weird Deer S**t, I got chills when they burned the house down and the woman started singing Auld Lang Syne. It was such an odd moment, with the guy eating dessert, and a guy burning on the inside. Oof.

And then the line of “Don’t do any weird deer shit” came up.

It certainly has its serious moments with the appropriate bits of humor thrown in.

How did we find this product?

It looked intriguing on Netflix so I decided to watch it and quite enjoyed it!
