The Gengar Backlit Gameboy Color is a must-have for Pokemon lovers and retro gamers that don’t want to fall too far into the past with the too-simple and colorless Gameboy. In fact, as the name suggests, they stepped it up and added in a backlit LCD kit with touch sensor brightness control!

Gengar looks like he’s ready to give you the best nightmares of your life on the cover, and if you’re a ghost Pokemon fan, then there’s no reason you really wouldn’t want this. I lean toward the ghosties, but maybe that’s because they look cooler and are a bit more…haunted than a lot of the other cutsie ones.
In other words, god, I’m getting so sick of you, Pikachu.
(Which is also made into a backlit Gameboy Color, mind you.)

How did Jackie draw this?
First off, she didn’t draw it onto the Gameboy Color, so get that out of your head. It was transferred on there by other means after the drawing was created by the company that sells these backlit GBCs.
Second, the main tools she uses are:
- Procreate, which is a program used to create artwork, much like Photoshop or Gimp, though it’s professionally used by artists through their iPads/tablets.
- XP-Pen tablet (Artist 16 Pro), a portable drawing device you can basically take wherever to draw on, given the proper drawing programs are installed.
