I haven’t written anything in a damn long time, but even so, I still love critiquing other written works to help other writers out, if they’re searching for some tough love to possibly strengthen their writing. Obviously, everyone has their own voice to their own writing and everyone has their own writing style, including me, so some of what I say when I critique might show that.
It’s always up to the author to take or leave the advice given in a critique.
Even so, I try to keep my critiques in-depth, even when I’m not doing a line-by-line in the Premium package. I state my feelings on different things and won’t just tell you what I liked and what I didn’t.
I’ll elaborate.
Nothing bugs me more than reading a critique on a forum or critiquing website and noticing that people just skim the surface of problems. That doesn’t help the writer at all to enhance their writing, and I prefer to help out more than frustrate and add more questions and problems.
