FNAF: Security Breach – Worth Avoiding Animatronics in A Mall

Five Nights at Freddy’s fans rejoice because FNAF: Security Breach is officially here, on a large mall-scaled size, just in case sitting in a security booth with crazy animatronics on the loose wasn’t freaky enough. Now they can actually chase you as a small, defenseless child left alone in an oversized mall of (mostly) uncaring robots.

FNAF: Security Breach

Is FNAF: Security Breach worthy of me?

  • Throwbacks to previous FNAF games
  • Some jammin’ elevator music
  • Large mall with plenty of collectibles to find
  • Security and cleaner bots sometimes teleport
  • Chica likes to teleport

Hoo-boy this is a big step away from just sitting in a chair or being in a small room and hitting buttons and looking left and right and just listening for cues for the notorious animatronics of doom. From the start of the game, you know it’s going to be glorious, especially with the opening it gives you.

We’re rocking out to a concert over here.

A concert that malfunctions, but you know how it goes.

And from there we get to know who we play as (a young boy named Gregory), as well as start to become bonded to our seemingly one and only friend: Freddy Fazbear. And man when he goes radio silent it becomes a stressful time.

The characters are great, as well as the voice actors that bring them to life. I mean, there are some glitches or even purposeful mechanics to at least Chica that makes her teleport to specific locations–and any animatronic might do this if you brush too close to a security or cleaner bot and they issue a security alert.

And those chase scenarios are harrowing as you try and find a place to hide without them seeing you hide.

In fact, there are a variety of jump-scares in this game that will make you blow out a breath and roll your eyes. You’ll end up getting spooked from just the simple opening of a door, I guarantee.

But the different areas of the mall this game takes you through is a real treat, especially since these days you don’t really see too much in malls. They’re all so gutted as to what they used to be ten years ago or more. No place was more frightening to me than the daycare area, where we meet both Moon and Sun, whom are two personalities of the daycare attendant.

Kids would never be the same after going in there.

You’ll probably read a letter of a disgruntled parent to prove my words.

It’s definitely a game worth giving a try if you’re a Five Nights at Freddy’s fan and want to continue the animatronic tradition of scares.
